Why?
You may be asking, why keep a carnivorous plant? Well first, carnivorous plants have a sweet aroma that attracts many insects. Then, the insects will get dissolved by the plant! In short, they are an efficient way to naturally get rid of pests in your house.
The Basics
One of the number one rules of keeping carnivorous plants is to only use distilled water. You can buy distilled water at various stores. The reason you need to use distilled water is that water with nutrients will rot the roots and cause the plant to die. Most carnivorous plants also live in swampy areas and wetlands. Keep them in constant water, but do not water them from the top, as for some carnivorous plants it can cause them to get damaged or falsely trigger. For Venus fly traps do not stick any fingers or anything into it besides small insects.
Potting
One of the best ways to pot your carnivorous plant is to put it inside sphagnum moss to absorb water, and allow it to have room to grow. It is also useful to poke a hole in the bottom of the plant's pot. Below the pot, put a plastic tub or tray and fill it very shallowly with water, so the moss will be able to absorb the water and keep the plant hydrated.
Conclusion
In conclusion, carnivorous plants are slightly difficult to keep, but if you know how to keep them they can be kept very easily and do not require much care.
